1. Good electrical properties
The fibre-reinforced polyester material used in the manufacture of electrical products has the following electrical properties.
Insulation resistance (immersed in water for 24 hours). 1.0x10 MΩ
Arc resistance: 180s
Tracking resistance index: ≥600v
The insulation protection and tracking resistance indices comply with the relevant DIN/VDE standards. This material not only has excellent electrical insulation properties, but also maintains good dielectric properties at high frequencies, is not affected by electromagnetism and does not reflect electromagnetic waves. These properties are far from being comparable to those of metallic materials.
2、Chemical resistance
The fibre-reinforced polyester material of the transparent meter box has good corrosion resistance, such as acid, dilute alkali, salt, organic solvents, seawater, etc., while the metal material is not resistant to acid and seawater.
3、Light weight and high strength
Specific strength and specific modulus is one of the indicators to measure the load-bearing capacity of the material. The specific modulus of fibre reinforced polyester material is comparable to steel, but its specific strength can reach four times that of steel.
4. Notch sensitivity
When a component is overloaded and a small amount of fibre breaks, the production load is quickly distributed over the undamaged fibre and mechanical equilibrium is regained. This is unmatched by metal components.
5. Low thermal conductivity and low coefficient of expansion
The thermal stresses generated when there is a temperature difference are much smaller than those of metal.

6、Excellent anti-UV and anti-ageing properties
In the non-metallic materials, fiber reinforced polyester material has excellent anti-aging performance. The anti-ageing performance test shows that in different use places and different climate zones, the maximum thickness of the surface ageing is less than 50μm in 20 years. the minimum thickness of most boxes is 5mm, less than 1% of the box thickness, so there is no obvious effect on the mechanical properties of the box.
